Herpes pictures are not pretty. It is a viral infection that is painful, unsightly and if the person suffering from it isn't careful, it will leave nasty pitting scars.

Herpes usually starts up about ten days after infection. If it is a genital infection, the genitals will tingle ache and itch. The affected area will then develop red spots which turn into small painful blisters and ulcers.

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease, but the herpes picture is not as necessarily grim as other sexually transmitted diseases.

The glands in the groin swell and it can often become very difficult to pass urine. The person who is suffering the attack of herpes also often feels ill, shivery nauseous and headachy.

These symptoms clear up in three - ten days, but they may possibly last up to three weeks especially in a female undergoing a first attack.

Once the symptoms disappear, some people may never suffer from the herpes virus again, but others may find they suffer an attack in cyclic stages.

Most genital herpes is caused by the HSV-2 virus, and many people only appear to have minimal signs and symptoms from this particular strain. Luckily even though the virus can (and does) stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tend to decrease over a period of time.

A herpes picture is of a sufferer who is in pain and undergoing anxiety about their illness, especially if it is a genital herpes attack. They may have a lot of questions to ask about their disease, such as how will it affect my sex life, do I need to inform previous partners about the disease, and how it will affect my ability to have children. They also need to know whether it something they will suffer with for the rest of their life. Usually a lot of reassurance is needed to be given.

Herpes pictures do not convey the underlying worry and concern that sufferers go through when they discover they are suffering from genital herpes. It can be a profound relief when they realize that even though distressing, genital herpes is not the worst sexually transmitted disease to suffer from.
